Preparation of disk
manuscripts
Do not attempt to make your outputs approximate or match the typeset
page Be consistent in style (i.e., units, abbreviations). End paragraphs with
two carriage returns. Do not use carriage returns within paragraphs; instead,
rely on the word processor’s work wrap (« soft return ») within paragraphs,
list items, etc. Do not add extra line spacing above, below titles or subheads,
or between paragraphs. To double-space your document, use the printer commands
in your word processor, ( i.e., do not make each line a new paragraph). Do not
type the lowercase letter «l» for the number «one» or vice versa. Likewise, do
not interchange the capital letter «O» and the number «zero». Avoid using
multiple horizontal spaces. Use only one space after the period at the end of a
sentence. Do not use multiple spaces for horizontal positioning of text;
instead, use indent or tab. Do not divide words by hyphenating at the end of a
line of text; instead, let the text wrap. Likewise, do not use your word
processor’s automatic hyphenating function. Do not use lowercase letters when
typing authors’ names.
