Dear Colleague:
Rheumatology News, Internal Medicine News, and Family
Practice News present the second annual Perspectives in Rheumatic
Diseases, a continuing medical education conference. The
conference upholds our commitment to exploring the latest advances in the
treatment and management of rheumatic diseases. Experts in their respective
fields will present clinically relevant information that rheumatologists,
internal medicine specialists, and family physicians will find immediately
useful when caring for their patients. Please join us and this nationally
recognized group of faculty leaders as we examine rheumatoid arthritis,
cardiovascular risks associated with RA and other connective tissue diseases,
psoriasis and psoriatic arthritis, cutaneous lupus, fibromyalgia and more.
Interactive panel discussions will allow for a lively exchange of ideas etween
faculty and attendees. The audience will have the opportunity to submit cases
and participate in discussions highlighting their own unique patient care
challenges. We are looking forward to meeting you personally on December 4-5,
2009, in Santa Monica. Sincerely, Daniel E. Furst, MD - Kenneth B. Gordon, MD

TARGET AUDIENCE
This continuing medical education conference is designed for:
rheumatologists, internists, family practice
physicians and healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of patients
with rheumatic diseases.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Although the cause of rheumatoid arthritis, inflammatory bowel disease,
cutaneous lupus, scleroderma, psoriasis, and psoriatic arthritis remains to be
clinically proven, it is becoming more apparent that these disorders share some
immunopathology that leads to uncontrolled inflammation, pain, disability, and
often tissue destruction. Perspectives in Rheumatic Diseases will help
physicians and health professionals maintain and improve their clinical,
diagnostic and therapeutic skills regarding these rheumatic diseases. This
expanded knowledge will lead to improved patient care and optimal patient
outcomes.
